Doing a winter season in Fernie is great because it's a small town, easy to get around and quite quick to get to know.

However, we make it much easier by providing hosts who will make it all a whole lot easier. There to greet you, get you settled in the house, show you round the town, tell you about all the best spots on the hill and be a shoulder to cry on if you get homesick...you wont!

Our hosts know Fernie like the back of their hand and will help you out with anything that you need during your stay.

Jez is our host at Jed's place.

Jez is an addict, a hot tub addict. If you can't find him straight away, that's where he'll be snow or shine. He's even been known to cut a powder day short for a sesh in the tub! He believes it is the secret to eternal youth...

Occupation: Graphic Designer, Teacher, Typographer and Snowboard Bum.

Moment in 08/09 season: Hiking the White Pass Chair to ride the Curry Bowl with fresh tacks from top to bottom on a powder day! (twice)

Holding the house record for hours spent in the hot tub.

Leaving Fernie in April a little sad but with a tan and no broken bones.

Matt will be your host if you are staying in Malamute Lodge.

"Straight-line it Matt, faster, keep going... wicked!!!.... oh shit!" Those were the words that Matt heard last season as his riding came to an abrupt halt after rag-dolling down through the chop at mach 1 (he'll tell you mach 5). He'll also tell you the picture below was taken on hot dog day... It wasn't, that's his usual get up.
