Fernie is an old mining town with some of the most welcoming and friendly people you are likely to ever meet. The pace of life here is nice and laid back with most of the locals regularly cancelling work for a powder day! The main high street is only 10 minutes walk and has all the stuff you would expect. There are a couple of choices of supermarket, plenty of good restaurants, lots of ski and snowboard shops with prices that you wont find in the UK, video hire shops, a great library and plenty of pubs and bars so you can go out for a few beers at the end of the day! If you want to spend your days riding some of the best powder terrain this side of anywhere and have the option to chill out in a quiet coffee shop OR have a wild one in one of the local bars then Fernie is definitely the place for you! |
